The most widely recognized certifications available for medical assistants are the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), and National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT). Only graduates are eligible to take up the certification exams mentioned above.
